Meet Jazzy

Show Name: Pineoaks Billies Blues

About Jazzy

Jazzy is my 14hh mare and the heart of Clifford Equestrian. She competes as a Show Hunter Galloway, I first met her in September 2021 when I began riding her. That was the beginning of a journey that has brought plenty of challenges, lessons, and proud moments.

Her background is a little mysterious. What I do know is that she was bred somewhere near Tamworth and is around 17 years old, as confirmed by my vet. Her exact breeding is unknown, though she is rumoured to have some New Forest Pony and Quarter Horse in her. A mix I cannot confirm, but she certainly has plenty of character.

At shows, she competes under the name Pineoaks Billies Blue. Pineoaks is a nod to the property where she once lived, giving her a sense of history for a mare without much of a known backstory. Billies Blue is inspired by the legendary jazz singer Billie Holiday. A fitting tribute for a mare called Jazzy.
